Childrens book
01 The Project
I illustrated a children’s story that explores the origins of food, turning complex themes like agriculture and food production into engaging, accessible visuals. The goal was to create artwork that sparks curiosity, connects young readers to nature, and resonates across diverse backgrounds, all while aligning with the tone and style of a contemporary children’s book publisher.
02 The Challenge
•Align the artwork with the tone and style suitable for a contemporary children’s book publisher.
•I choose to illustrate a children’s story that explains the origin of food in a way that’s engaging, informative, and appropriate for young readers.
•Simplify complex themes such as food production, agriculture, and food sources without losing meaning or accuracy.
•I wanted to create visuals that resonate with children across different backgrounds, while fostering curiosity and a connection to nature.
03 The Solution
•Created a vibrant, textured illustration series using playful shapes and diverse characters to make food origins feel familiar and engaging.
Visually narrated the journey of food from nature to table—farms, gardens, and markets—making abstract concepts tangible for children.
•Incorporated inclusive elements to ensure broad relatability and emotional connection.
